Dan Barker issued a challenge to Christians in his book Losing Faith in Faith:
I HAVE AN EASTER CHALLENGE for Christians. My challenge is simply this: tell me what happened at Easter. I don't ask for proof. My sincere request is merely that Christians tell me exactly what happened on the day their most important doctrine was born. Believers should wholeheartedly accept it, for without the resurrection, there is no Christianity. Paul wrote: “And if Christ is not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
